Stäubli Cable Cutters - PV-WZ-KS - 32.6080

Stäubli’s cable cutters PV-WZ-KS (32.6080) cut copper and aluminium cables up to 15 mm in diameter without crushing them. They form part of the PV tool range at Stäubli and are also included in the tool kits for MC4 and MC4-Evo 2.

Features

Special cutting geometry for an easy, clean cut; ergonomic one-handed operation; no crushing or deformation of the cable. For cutting single-strand, multi-strand and fine-strand copper and aluminium cables. Not suitable for steel wire, wire rope or hard-drawn copper conductors. The tool is intended for use only on de-energised cables.

The catalogue also mentions a return spring that reopens the cutters after each cut.

Why a clean cut matters

A round, undistorted conductor can be stripped and crimped evenly. Crushed ends make it difficult to insert the conductor into the contact and can weaken the crimp connection.
