Among the accessories for air conditioners, the window seal HT-800 from Hantech is currently available for portable air conditioners. It seals the gap in the window through which the exhaust hose of a monoblock unit leads to the outside.

Window seal for portable air conditioners

Without a seal, warm outside air flows in through the open window, and the unit ends up cooling the very same air it is drawing in. The HT-800 consists of PU-coated polyester fabric, is 40 cm wide and has a total length of 4 metres. According to the manufacturer, it can also be used to seal balcony doors almost completely. It is attached to the frame using self-adhesive Velcro tape; a double zip allows the hose to pass through whilst sealing the rest. The fabric can be removed without taking off the Velcro tape, and the window remains usable as normal. According to the manufacturer, the seal is not suitable for wooden-framed windows. A pair of scissors or a craft knife is sufficient for cutting it to size.
