Balcony solar mounts
Mounting brackets for the balcony power plant: The Hantech balcony bracket with hooks attaches a solar panel to the balcony railing; in addition, there is the universal PV bracket MH-41 and a simple balcony bracket.
Three mounting brackets from Hantech, allowing a balcony power plant to be mounted on a balcony, on a wall or on the floor. All three can be adjusted to an angle of 15 to 30°.
Which mount is suitable for which location
- Balcony railing mount with hooks: two J-hooks for round railing tubes, two adjustable front and rear legs each, screws and nuts are included in the scope of delivery. Anchors for concrete or walls are not included.
- Simple balcony solar mount: for metal railings, balcony fencing on a concrete floor or concrete wall, with a 0° or 15 to 30° tilt for landscape-oriented modules. Rubber pads protect the module.
- MH-41 Universal PV Mount: according to the installation instructions, for wooden decking, metal roofing, concrete flooring or balcony walls, with four rubber pads and eight sheet metal screws.
What matters during installation
When mounting on a railing, the shape of the tube is the first consideration, as the J-hooks are designed for round tubes according to the instructions. For walls or concrete floors, you’ll need wall plugs suitable for the substrate. A steep angle makes better use of the low winter sun, whilst a flatter angle makes better use of the midday sun in summer. A module on a balcony must remain secure even in a storm; a specialist firm will assess whether the railing, wall and fixings can bear the load.
The ‘Balcony Power Plants’ overview shows complete systems, divided into balcony power plants without storage and those with storage. The guide ‘Mounting Systems for Solar Panels’ explains which mounting system is suitable for a balcony, wall or roof.
