Accessibility Statement
This statement applies to the actec.eu online shop operated by AC TEC GmbH, Wikingerstraße 10, 76189 Karlsruhe. This version is a translation of the German statement. It contains the information on accessibility required by the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) in Section 14 and Annex 3 for services provided via electronic commerce.
Description of the service
Via actec.eu, consumers can purchase air conditioners, solar panels, inverters, energy storage systems, plug-in balcony solar systems, complete photovoltaic kits, mounting materials and accessories online. The shop is available in German, English, French, Dutch and Italian. We deliver within Germany; collection in Karlsruhe is also possible.
How to shop
- Find a product: via the menu, the category pages with filters, or the search function.
- View the product: the product page shows the price, delivery time, technical specifications and, where available, data sheets.
- Add to your basket and review your order in the basket.
- Proceed to checkout: You can order using your customer account or as a guest. Enter your delivery and billing addresses and select your delivery method and payment method. Payment is processed by our payment service provider, Mollie. The available payment methods are listed on the Payment Methods page, and the costs on the Shipping Costs and Delivery page.
- Submit your order: Before submitting, you must confirm the General Terms and Conditions. You will then receive an order confirmation by email.
- Delivery: We dispatch parcels via GLS. We arrange a delivery date with you for freight deliveries before they are delivered. Your right of withdrawal is explained in the Withdrawal Policy.
If you have any questions about any of these steps, we’ll be happy to help via email or telephone; our contact details are listed below.
How the shop meets the requirements
The requirements of the Regulation under the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSGV) apply, in particular Section 12 for services in general and Section 19 for electronic commerce. As a technical benchmark, we use the harmonised standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, as referenced therein.
On 19 September 2026, we tested the following and confirmed that they have been met:
- Automated testing: the home page, category pages, product pages, frequently asked questions, registration, shopping basket, the checkout process up to the point before submitting the order, the cookie notice with its settings, and this statement in all five languages, in both the smartphone and computer views. No breaches of the automatically testable criteria of WCAG 2.1 AA were found.
- Language: Each page is labelled with its language so that screen readers use the correct pronunciation.
- Text, images and controls: Images have alternative text. Buttons and links – including the search function and the category tiles on the homepage – have a name that a screen reader can read aloud. Text and buttons achieve a contrast ratio of 4.5:1, including in the cookie notice and when the mouse pointer hovers over a button. Names for screen readers are in the language of the respective version of the shop, including the image gallery on the product pages, the ‘Back to top’ button and the payment methods at checkout. The payment method icons at checkout are marked as decorative, as the name of the payment method is shown as text next to them.
- Keyboard: The main menu, sub-menus, shopping basket, mobile menu, the expandable sections of the footer and the cookie notice can all be navigated using the keyboard. The Escape key closes menus and the shopping basket, whilst the focus remains in a logical position. The keyboard focus is visible. A ‘Skip to content’ link bypasses the navigation.
- Forms: The input fields for registration and checkout are labelled, and mandatory fields are marked. Error messages during registration appear next to the relevant field, are linked to it, and the focus jumps to the first field containing an error. The registration and checkout pages specify the purpose of the input fields for name, address, telephone number and email address, so that browsers can automatically fill in the fields.
- Display: The pages can be zoomed in on in the browser. At a width of 320 pixels, the display adjusts without requiring horizontal scrolling, including the technical specifications on the product pages of kits. Content does not move automatically.
- Legal texts: The legal texts, payment methods and delivery charges are provided as text on separate pages and not merely as images or PDFs.
We provide information on the accessibility of the products on offer, insofar as the manufacturers make this information available to us.
Current status of accessibility
The online shop is fully accessible, as measured against WCAG 2.1 Level AA and EN 301 549 (as at 19 September 2026). In our assessment, we found nothing that does not meet these requirements.
We have not tested the following ourselves:
- Payment: Payment is processed by our payment service provider, Mollie. We have not checked the accessibility of their payment pages and input fields ourselves.
- Usage with a screen reader: We have not yet completed a full purchase using a screen reader.
- Checkout error messages: We have not yet checked how the checkout reports missing or incorrect details, as this would require placing an order.
- Customer account and emails: The pages accessed after logging into the customer account and the order emails have not yet been tested.
- Third-party content: Data sheets and manufacturer documentation are PDF files provided by the manufacturers. They are not part of this assessment and are not consistently accessible.
If you require information from any of these sections in an accessible format – for example, the content of a data sheet – please write to us or give us a call.

Preparation of this statement
This statement was drawn up on 5 September 2026 and last revised on 19 September 2026. It is based on a self-assessment carried out on 19 September 2026: an automated check using axe-core (rules for WCAG 2.1 A and AA) and Lighthouse, in both the smartphone and computer views, as well as a manual check using the keyboard, at a width of 320 pixels, on the forms and on the names that controls expose to screen readers. Automated tools only detect some of the potential barriers. No audit by an independent body has taken place. We review this statement following every significant change to the shop.
