The Stäubli socket sealing cap PV-BVK4 (32.0716P0100) seals coupling sockets from the MC4 and MC4-Evo 2 ranges, provided they are not connected. According to the manufacturer’s catalogue, it is made of TPE and fits onto the socket side.

When you need sealing caps

Sealing caps to protect PV connectors that are not mated.

The manufacturer stipulates that unplugged connectors must be protected from contamination using Stäubli sealing caps. This applies, for example, to pre-assembled cables lying on the roof until they are connected to the inverter, or to spare connections in a string. If dirt or moisture enters the socket, the contact will be compromised.
