Terragrif K2U17 In portrait format (K2 Systems 2000056) is a contact element for equipotential bonding: it establishes a conductive connection between the module frame and the mounting rail. The part is 17 mm long, 20 mm wide and 5.8 mm high and, according to the manufacturer’s data sheet, weighs 1.8 g.

Application

Aluminium frames of solar panels are anodised, and the anodised layer is a poor conductor. A contact element such as Terragrif penetrates the surface when the module clamp is tightened, thereby electrically connecting the frame and the rail. In this way, module frames are incorporated into the system’s equipotential bonding. Whether and how equipotential bonding must be carried out is determined by the qualified electrical contractor.
