With the hybrid inverter SUN2000-8KTL-M1, manufacturer Huawei offers the latest generation of a state-of-the-art 3-phase energy storage inverter with a rated power of 8,000 watts. This versatile unit is the complete solution for solar and energy storage applications. It is particularly suitable for rooftop solar installations as well as ground-mounted power plants and, thanks to its water protection rating of IP65, can also be installed outside of buildings.

The hybrid inverter SUN2000-8KTL-M1 offers the advantage of eliminating the need for a separate battery inverter. The battery is connected directly to the inverter. It is also possible to operate the hybrid inverter initially without a battery and install it at a later date. The installation effort is significantly lower than with AC-coupled storage systems.
The SUN2000-8KTL-M1 is compatible with, among others, the Huawei battery series LUNA2000 and Huawei Smart ESS batteries ranging from 5 kWh to 30 kWh.

In the event of power outages, the inverter can provide emergency power supply (EPS) within a minimal amount of time via its integrated EPS port.
The integrated energy management system features various user-friendly modes that optimize the user experience, including an automatic self-consumption mode. This also allows users to set different time and/or date ranges or weekday rules. All modes can be conveniently configured via the app.

This state-of-the-art, latest-generation inverter is equipped with two integrated MPP trackers. Their function is to adjust the load resistance so that the photovoltaic system’s output can be continuously optimized. The two MPP trackers offer the major advantage of allowing a single solar panel or multiple solar panels connected in series to be controlled as a separate “string.” This means the inverter also supports more complex installations, such as those with shading issues or varying roof orientations.

The integrated Wi-Fi module allows for convenient monitoring and control of power generation and storage via the Internet using a computer or smartphone through an app. The “Huawei Smart Dongle WLAN FE” is included in the scope of delivery. In addition to Wi-Fi, the device features a RS485 interface for the Smart Power Sensor and Smart Logger. Optionally, communication with the device is also possible via the 2G/3G/4G using a “Huawei Smart Dongle 4G.” The device features numerous protective functions.

To protect against indirect lightning strikes or switching surges, the inverter is equipped with Type II AC and DC surge protection. In addition, the following protection and other functions are integrated: DC load break switch, off-grid detection, DC reverse polarity protection, insulation monitoring, ground fault current monitoring, AC overcurrent protection, AC short-circuit protection, arc detection, inputs for remote control receivers, integrated PID recovery, and the ability to charge a battery from the grid.

The device operates extremely quietly and features natural convection cooling, meaning no fans are installed, which further minimizes noise.
