Fronius Reserva Storage System

With the Reserva series, Fronius is building a high-voltage storage system composed of identical modules, each with a capacity of 3.15 kWh. Two modules total 6.3 kWh, five total 15.8 kWh— with intermediate capacities of 9.5 and 12.6 kWh. In addition, there is the Reserva Pro with modules of 3.98 kWh each and a set totaling 31.9 kWh.

How the modular system works

In addition to the modules, each tower requires a battery management system with a base unit. We list it separately because it is not required again when expanding an existing storage system. Those who start small and expand later purchase a set first and then individual modules. The cells are LFP (lithium iron phosphate), the protection rating is IP65, and the permissible temperature range is from −20 to +55 °C. Fronius offers a 10-year warranty and manufactures in Austria.

System Requirements

Reserva is a high-voltage system and requires a hybrid inverter capable of interfacing with it — at Fronius, this includes the GEN24 series, among others. Communication takes place via RS485. A storage system can be retrofitted even years later, as long as the inverter was a hybrid unit from the start.
