Solar Panel Kits – Complete PV Systems with or without Battery Storage
A complete solar panel kit combines compatible solar panels, a three-phase hybrid inverter and, depending on the configuration, battery storage. ACTEC offers complete solar PV kits from approximately 7 to 30 kWp for homes and larger roofs. Compare output, storage, included components and price.
What size solar panel system do you need?
The right size depends on annual electricity use, available roof space, heat pumps and electric vehicles. For many homes, 9–17 kWp may be suitable; larger roofs can accommodate 21, 25.6 or 30 kWp. Individual system design is essential.
| kWp | Panels | kWh |
|---|
| ~7 kWp | 15 | 7.5/10 kWh |
| 9.3–9.4 kWp | 20 | 7.5/10/– kWh |
| 11.2–11.3 kWp | 24 | 10/15/– kWh |
| ~14 kWp | 30 | 10/15/– kWh |
| 16.7–16.9 kWp | 36 | 10/15/– kWh |
| ~21 kWp | 45 | 15 kWh |
| ~25.6 kWp | 55 | 15 kWh |
| ~30.2 kWp | 65 | 15 kWh |
Capacities are indicative. Panels measure approximately 1.76 × 1.13 m: 20 panels occupy around 40 m² and 24 panels around 48 m², excluding clearances.
JA Solar and Trina glass-glass panels
Our kits use JA Solar JAM54D40 465 W or Trina Vertex S+ 465/470 W glass-glass panels, with N-type cells and black frames depending on model. Refer to the manufacturer's datasheet for exact dimensions, weight and warranty.
Hybrid inverters and battery storage
Three-phase hybrid inverters include Solplanet, Growatt SPH 10000TL3 and Trina TRH. Compatible storage includes Solplanet Ai-HB G2 Pro, Growatt ARK and Trina systems. Typical capacities are 7.5, 10 or 15 kWh; three, four or six 2.56 kWh modules provide nominal capacities of 7.68, 10.24 or 15.36 kWh. Usable capacity can differ. Backup power depends on the model, configuration and additional electrical equipment.
With or without battery storage?
A battery lets you use daytime solar generation in the evening or at night. Battery-free kits cost less and can suit high daytime electricity demand. They already include hybrid inverters, but future storage retrofits depend on compatibility and manufacturer requirements.
German VAT, incentives and feed-in payments in 2026
The following rules apply to installations in Germany, not automatically to the United Kingdom. Under section 12(3) of the German VAT Act, qualifying solar systems and essential components may be subject to 0% VAT; conditions apply, including simplified conditions for systems up to 30 kWp registered in the German Market Master Data Register. Eligible German feed-in payments are governed by the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), with rates depending on output, commissioning and export arrangements. Under German metering legislation, systems above 7 kW are generally subject to smart metering and control requirements. Dynamic tariffs and battery charging capabilities depend on system configuration and applicable rules. For installations outside Germany, check local tax, incentive, registration, grid connection and technical requirements.
Bundesnetzagentur (Germany)
What's included in the kit?
Each kit contains panels and a matching hybrid inverter; battery-equipped kits also include battery modules and controls. Solar cables are included in some kits and ordered separately in others. Roof mounting systems must be selected for the roof and ordered separately. ACTEC supplies components but does not provide installation.
Registration and grid connection in Germany
In Germany, grid-connected systems must be registered with the network operator and the Bundesnetzagentur's Marktstammdatenregister, generally within one month of commissioning. Stationary batteries require separate registration. Qualified electricians must carry out grid connection and commissioning under applicable technical rules. Outside Germany, follow the relevant national procedures.
