A wall bracket supports the outdoor unit of a split or multi-split air conditioner on the façade. Currently, the wall bracket shown here is the SC450PR from Gilardi.

Gilardi SC450PR

The bracket is made of galvanised steel and has an additional coating to protect it from rust when used outdoors. The mounting arms are adjustable and can therefore accommodate units of various sizes. According to the manufacturer, it is suitable for both single-split and multi-split units. The dimensions are 450 mm, 360 mm and 800 mm, and it weighs around 3.5 kg.

What to look for when choosing

The weight and width of the outdoor unit are crucial factors; both are specified in its technical data sheet. The outdoor units of multi-split sets, for example, weigh between 34 and 68 kg net, depending on their size. The wall is equally important: the fixings and wall plugs must be suitable for the masonry, which is assessed by the specialist company installing the system. Some split sets, such as those in the Hantech H-Pro series, come with a bracket already included.
