DeepBlue 3.0 and 4.0

JA Solar develops photovoltaic modules for residential buildings, commercial rooftop systems, and large-scale utility-scale projects. Its European portfolio primarily features the DeepBlue 4.0 and DeepBlue 3.0 series—depending on the series, these incorporate n-type cell technology, TOPCon architecture, bifacial design, and glass-on-glass construction.

Two effects that boost annual yield

The glass-on-glass design enables bifacial cells without the vulnerable backsheet. The module captures direct light on the front and diffuse reflected light on the back—resulting in a measurable additional yield depending on the surface and mounting system.

The second effect stems from n-type technology: it offers a better temperature coefficient. On hot summer days, these modules lose less power than standard modules—precisely when irradiance is at its highest . Calculated over the course of a year, this amounts to a difference of kWh per kWp.
