Module-level power regulation

APsystems develops micro inverters and MLPE (Module Level Power Electronics) technology for photovoltaic systems. The inverter is mounted directly on the module and immediately converts its direct current into grid-compliant alternating current. Each module thus operates at its own MPP.

The practical benefit becomes apparent in the event of shading and mixed orientations: with a string inverter, the weakest module determines the performance of the string — but not here. A shaded module or one with a different tilt does not drag the others down with it.

Series and connectivity

The manufacturer’s range also includes the DS3 and QT2 series, which use the ECU-R, ECU-C or ECU-B gateways for monitoring; ACTEC does not currently stock these series. According to the manufacturer, the EZ1 can be connected directly to a smartphone via Bluetooth and also linked to the router via Wi-Fi.

APsystems at ACTEC

ACTEC stocks the APsystems EZ1-M for private customers and specialist installers. Typical applications:

• Balcony solar systems with up to two modules
• Balcony and small-scale systems using the EZ1 series
• Modules with different orientations, with a dedicated MPP tracker for each input
• Projects requiring monitoring per module

Important: According to the manufacturer, the EZ1 is not suitable for roof installation; installing it on a roof will void the product warranty. The manufacturer also states that online registration via Wi-Fi is a prerequisite for the product warranty.
