Module-Level Power Control

APsystems develops micro inverters and MLPE technology (Module Level Power Electronics) for photovoltaic systems. The inverter is mounted directly on the module and immediately converts its direct current into grid-compatible alternating current. Each module thus operates at its own MPP.

The practical benefit becomes apparent in cases of shading and mixed orientations: With a string inverter, the weakest module determines the string’s performance—but not here. A shaded or differently oriented module does not drag down the performance of the others.

Series and Connectivity

The DS3 QT2-series rely on the ECU-R, ECU-C, or ECU-B gateways for professional monitoring. The EZ1-series connects directly to a smartphone— without requiring network configuration, which greatly simplifies firmware updates and yield monitoring for small-scale installations.

APsystems at ACTEC

ACTEC carries APsystems products for residential customers and professional installers. Typical applications:

  • Roof-mounted systems with partial shading or multiple orientations
  • Balcony and small-scale systems with the EZ1-series
  • Systems designed for modular expansion
  • Projects requiring monitoring on a per-module basis

For professional installers, this means: no string planning based on the weakest module, no DC voltage exceeding 60 V on the roof, and a system that can be expanded later without altering the existing installation.
