AIKO is one of the leading manufacturers of photovoltaic modules in terms of technology. At the heart of its portfolio is the in-house developed ABC (All Back Contact) technology : All electrical contacts are located on the back of the solar cell, leaving the entire front surface available to capture sunlight.

Compared to conventional cell architectures, this results in significantly higher efficiency for the same module area—and a uniform appearance without visible conductor tracks, which is a selling point in its own right for high-profile rooftops.

Performance Under Partial Shading

The cell architecture of ABC modules offers a second practical advantage: improved shading management. Power losses due to temporary shading—such as from chimneys, dormers, or neighboring buildings—are less significant than with conventional modules. This makes AIKO particularly attractive for complex roof geometries, where available space is already limited.
