Roof hooks & tile replacements
Roof hooks and anchor bolts connect the mounting rail to the rafters. Shown here are the SingleHook, SolidHook and CrossHook from K2 Systems – hooks for slate roofs and metal roof panels that replace a roof tile at the point where the hook is fitted.
Roof hooks, anchor bolts and cover plates from K2 Systems, which connect the mounting rail on a pitched roof to the rafter. The hooks differ depending on which rail and which type of roofing they are designed for: interlocking tiles, plain tiles, slate or corrugated fibre cement.
The hook follows the rail
SingleHook 4S, SingleHook 3S Long, CrossHook 3S and Single Hook 2 are supplied with Climber 36/50 and support the SingleRail. SolidHook 4S+, Vario 2 and the SLA slate hook have a bracket with a slotted hole for the SolidRail. The 3S and 4S hooks are adjustable to three different heights in the base plate, from approximately 40 to 55 mm; this allows the hook to compensate for the height difference between the rafter and the top edge of the tile. According to the data sheet, the SingleHook 4S, 3S Long and CrossHook 3S are designed for rafters from 48 mm. If there is no rafter in the correct position, the 2.10 m long SingleBoard base plate 3S/4S supports a hook between two rafters.
Plain tiles and corrugated fibre cement
The FLA single hook H35/144 is designed for interlocking tile roofs. According to K2, each hook comes with two 300 × 260 mm metal roof panels, available in red or anthracite; these seal the hook point. On corrugated fibre cement over a timber substructure, hanger bolts M10 with gaskets take the place of the hook, here in lengths of 180, 200 and 250 mm. The length depends on the roof structure, whilst the number of fixing points depends on the structural requirements.
These are compatible with the mounting rails, connectors and module clamps. Fixings for metal roofs can be found under ‘Trapezoidal sheet metal’ and ‘Metal roofs’, with an overview by roof type in the guide ‘Mounting systems for solar panels’.
