Cables that last as long as the system

Athilex develops solar cables for the permanent DC connection between the module array and the inverter. The cables are halogen-free, UV-resistant, and flame-retardant, with XLPE insulation for continuous use in rooftop systems, solar farms, and floating PV systems.

The abbreviation “H1Z2Z2-K” stands for the harmonized design of certified solar cables. Athilex cross-links the jacket using an electron beam, thereby achieving a temperature resistance range of −40 °C to +90 °C, and up to +120 °C at the conductor. Under the modules, where hot spots can form, the insulation material therefore does not melt or flow.

Resistance to what happens on the roof

The hydrolysis- and ammonia-resistant outer jacket holds up even where prolonged moisture or an agricultural environment affects the insulation. The 16 mm² ground wire in green/yellow is classified according to B2ca and thus meets one of the highest fire safety standards for building installations. Depending on the version, it may also feature “AD8” compliance or enhanced mechanical protection.
