When you need a part individually
The base is already included in several storage sets: for Growatt APX, Solplanet Ai-HB G2 Pro and Fronius Reserva, it is housed within the BMS unit, and the product description will then state ‘incl. base’. Anyone assembling a storage system from individual components should therefore first check whether the chosen BMS unit includes the base. The modules themselves, BMS units and ready-made sets can be found under Storage for inverters, including the battery module for EcoFlow Ocean 2.
According to the scope of delivery, the Solplanet base includes the cables between the battery and the inverter, each 2 m long. For EcoFlow PowerOcean, the junction box houses the modules and connects them to the system. Anyone wishing to operate several high-voltage towers from Solplanet in parallel will find the combination box ASW1000-CB-HB in the inverter accessories.
The following protection ratings apply to the installation site: the SAJ base is rated to IP65, whilst the Solplanet base is rated to IP66. According to the manufacturer, the Growatt APX base is intended for indoor use and sheltered outdoor areas. Is the battery base included in the storage set?
For the sets from Growatt APX, Solplanet Ai-HB G2 Pro and Fronius Reserva, yes, it is included as part of the BMS unit. For all other storage systems, the product description indicates whether the base is included.
Does one base fit every storage unit?
No. Each base is designed for the modules from its specific manufacturer and series, such as the Growatt base for the APX modules 5.0P-B1.
How many modules can a base hold?
That depends on the system. According to the manufacturer, the base for EcoFlow Ocean 2 supports up to six modules, whilst the PowerOcean Junction Box supports up to three.
